First post about John and Holly’s wedding is all about the details!! Their reception at the East Square Plaza in Fayetteville was absolutely gorgeous – from the bird cage centerpieces to the stunning tissue paper flower H’s in the center. I loved the little birds nest with eggs to mark reserved tables, and the cakes looked incredible (and tasted even better!!) This was the first reception we’ve photographed at the East Square Plaza, and I hope we do many more in the coming years. It is simply a wonderful venue and creates the perfect backdrop for an even more perfect evening. Enjoy … and check back tomorrow for the wedding highlights!

This morning I was going through an old hard drive to pull some images … and came across these studio shots from, well, a LONG time ago! I remember putting up this set, and how much fun we had tearing out old book pages and taping them up to the wall. One of the things we love about our job is definitely the freedom to be unique and create funky sets like this for our awesome clients.

I’m going to take a moment to brag a little bit on some friends and fellow wedding vendors, Junkerman Jones Wedding and Event Design! They put together this incredible Winter Wonderland themed wedding at Pratt Place Barn in Fayetteville that was just featured in the most recent issue of Arkansas Bride! We got to photograph these details for them, and I have to say it truly felt magical! I would highly recommend them to any bride who wants to create the wedding of her dreams!

1. WEBSITE // where we find ourselves getting lost online …http://www.pinterest.comIf you want to get lost in lovelies, this is the place! One of our favorite baristas pointed this out, and I wondered where it has been all my life. You can scroll through thousands of images, broken into categories, and find out what everyone else loves these days. I found a photo of a lacy pair of TOMS … if you can figure out where to actually buy them you’ll be my hero! Plus, they would make awesome (comfy) bridal shoes.

The Titus Task Haiti Project – http://www.thetitustask.com/give-to-haiti-project.html

The Titus Task, a local non-profit focusing on orphan care worldwide, has taken on the goal of raising $30,000 for a church in Haiti so they are able to buy a new piece of land when their current lease runs out … in July! In the words of Lori Tugwell, the founder of the Titus Task, “Ever since Pastor Andre first told us of the large amount of money needed – I have to admit I have been a little concerned about whether or not we would be able to raise that much money.  It has come to my attention over and over — we CAN’T, but GOD CAN…We felt the urgency and leading of God to try to gather a big group of people that could help Pastor Andre…We are so thankful for those of you who have given!  We are almost at 5% of our goal…Please consider how you might be a part of the story!”

Ooooh la la … we are so excited about Jon and Natahle’s wedding invitations! They wrote such a cute story and had a great idea to make a mad-lib style RSVP card, and gave me complete creative freedom with the design. To send in the RSVP, guests just have to tear along the perforated line and mail it in postcard-style. The design matches beautifully with their rustic-themed barn wedding! And, they are going to have PAPER flowers that are going to be to die for! Can’t wait til March 12 … ;)

Last week we had the opportunity to travel down to San Antonio for Imaging USA, one of the largest professional photography conventions in the world … more than 10,000 photogs were there! For us, it’s really important to attend conventions like that so that we can stay current with trends, products and technologies and offer our customers the very best, as well as learn new techniques to stay at the forefront of our industry. We also love networking with our colleagues and friends from around the country – for many of us we only see each other once a year so it’s one of the highlights! Plus, 70 degrees & eating on the Riverwalk just can’t be beat this time of year. We were especially excited when we arrived at the tradeshow to see that our album company is using several of our albums and products as samples to show other photographers what can be done! Here is a little instagr.am collage of our albums at their booth!

We wanted to take a minute and congratulate Matt Pearson, the architect of this incredible house we photographed over the summer. (See original post here) He just called the other day to let us know that he has been awarded the Merit of Excellence in Design by the American Institute of Architects! How awesome is that?!

I have decided to finally share a post that’s been running around in my head for a while. Maybe not in blog-post form, but more in an I LOVE SHOES form. ;) Ever since my friend and I would meet up in the Nordstrom Shoe Section as a way to start all of our trips to the mall, I think I’ve been in love. I mean, they’re just shoes, right?! WRONG. Shoes can tell a lot about a person, especially if you look at their shoe collection as a whole. If you opened up my shoe closet you would notice a lack of heels. Perhaps only a few pairs … but mostly flats and boots. I LOVE boots, and while I love the look of heels I just can’t walk in them and have no intention of really ever mastering that art. ;) I do admire those girls that can run down the streets of NY wearing 5 inch stilettos! Wedding shoes also say a lot about the bride – glamorous, elegant, girly, funky, cute, etc…though personally I wore Converse tennis shoes. ;)
